Ether Wing mutation can give even more speed. The Lithe feet mutation has 3 tiers going from +5 to +10 to +15. There is also the Ether Foot mutation that gives +31 speed. You can give companions Ether mutations by getting gear made out of Ether and equipping it to them.

Apparently the mutations that get "cleansed" are the most recent ones added so it's easy enough to manage the bad ones. I can't confirm this 100% as I'm lacking the necessary things to test it myself but from what little mutation stuff I've worked with it seems to be the case. I would still save beforehand just in case.

Yowyn Horse, bought from the animal trainer in Yowyn, has 205 base speed.

interesting i didnt know npcs could get ether disease. thanks. and yeah atleast the syringes you buy at the Little Garden only take off the most recent ether disease

From my (admittedly limited) experience with normal mutations I've had it take the most recent ones as well. That one is easy enough to test with enough mutation/cure mutation potions/spells.

Not sure which the best mount is, but I can say I've enjoyed having carbuncle as mine since it can revive other party members and doesn't seem too slow

Plus fairly high strength, which prevents your character's weight from slowing him down as much. Remember to feed your mount strength boosting food, my Golem Farmer still cut the Yowyn Horse's speed in half (to 100) just from his weight alone.

Your weight actually has no bearing on Riding.
The formula can be found on the wiki's page on Riding, and weight doesn't factor in.

It's just that the horse is pretty fast, and thus requires either the horse getting more Strength or you having a higher Riding skill to offset the penalties of riding a fast mount.

You can give NPCs ether disease symptoms by throwing a Cursed Ether Antibody on them or by them taking Ether damage. They don't have normal ether disease progression, I'm fairly sure it's safe to give them all Ether equipment and they'll never mutate. Attacking them with a Cane that does Ether damage repeatedly will cause a mutation

Unless it's been changed giving ether equipment to companions 100% gives them the disease.

Cure Mutation picks something random (unless blessed/cursed, in which case it takes a random negative/positive mutation, respectively)

Yes. If you offer a Pot of Water to an altar of a god that isn't yours (and not Eyth either, I think) then they'll curse it, then you can blend it with something to curse it.

wind's wrap increase speed by 22.(faction)
Ether wing (can be upgrade to double wings if same mutation happens) privides tons of speed
not sure whether it works on mount or not.

Cat Apostate with 2 high rolls on speed rings should have around 200 speed, with mutations even higher. You have significantly reduced ROI after 200 speed. You can find enemies in Void and recruit things with 100s of speed, but then again the benefits fall off and the is game isnt balanced around it.

The spiral thing is the best but that end game stuff. I still ride my trusty cat to battle.
