This is a nice way to get into roguelikes as Elin is pretty forgiving, compared to other games. Welcome to Elin, where IRL time fast forwards as you play.
I haven't played any others unless you would count in games like Hades which is rogueLITE, so can't tell what other games would be like. Caves of Qud seems interesting but not really a fan of the graphical style, have no idea how deep or unforgiving it is opposed to this game.
One thing that appealed about this one is that it can be pretty unhinged.
I have 20 hours playtime (two characters) in a few days so it's going pretty quick.

There have been a few 'unforgiving' moments where you come across a level 20+ mob that overpowers you greatly or a certain mob-type (Goblin) that blows through my HP and Mana(Wraith) so I die within no time.
Haven't fully figured out what to do in those situations yet, attempt to avoid them or just skip the dungeon I guess.
Sometimes the jump in difficulty is just too much, such as the 5th floor of Nymelle with the robots bombarding you and also being like 10-15 levels higher than the mobs on the previous floors.
Not going to cheese through that as I simply need to increase stats on my character, but it does have it's crazy moments in random generated dungeons as well.
be the chad and accomplish stuff on your own
