Suicidal companions and pets
Is there any way to prevent this default suicidal companions and pets behaviour? It's getting on my nerves, how they always hurl into lost battles and never retreat. We so-so destroy some enemies and once I try to step back to refresh, they hurl into another clash, and then another, and then another,.. it makes no sense.

There's a few options.

1) Go into your character info window, click on the Strategy section, and check the box for allies to stick close to you during combat.
That's not fool-proof though.

2) Craft a Leash and use it on your allies. This will make them stick close by, and they should follow you if you flee.

3) Craft a Whistle of Peace. This will turn your allies passive, and they won't attack, until you leave the map or blow the whistle again.

And finally, maybe find a companion who knows Healing magic. Farris the bard is a good starter option once you reach her during the story.

Make silk healing bandages and then ultimately give them armor. I was super annoyed myself but once you get them set up its not nearly as bad because you can keep them from dying. It can also be helpful to get a healer ally.
