Harvest quests
I don't really understand harvest quests. Description say X days, but once I start it's few turns and BAM! you lost. I mean, how am I expected to know, that there will be this crazy limit, when it's not mentioned anywhere and quest instead say "X days"?

Yeah it threw me for a loop at first as well. Basically the day limit is how long you have to start the quest.

However, once in the quest there is a "hidden" timer active to dictate how many actions you can perform before the instance closes. It will show something that says "Ends Soon" at the top eventually, which is a warning that the instance is going to close soon.

I believe there are mod(s) that will show the timer while in the instance but I never really looked into them.

As a side note, here are some things to take into consideration:
  • The better your tool, the better your skill and the higher your speed, the faster you can gather crops over a given amount of time.
  • You can use "throwing" for crops and teleporting for yourself in order to traverse the map with minimal impact on time.
  • Use your pet(s) inventory so you can keep gathering without incurring the "burden" speed debuff. This way you can harvest several nodes before coming back to the shipping container at the center.
  • Once you have met the capacity, you can use a sickle on the crops to get "free" seeds. You can also do this on purpose for the mission if you want to farm seeds and are ok taking the Fame and Karma hit for failing.

There's even more tips and tricks for this, but the above should be the things you can likely take advantage of immediately.

X days is how long until the quest disapear from the board.

the harvest quest iteself ask you to bring back X mass of veggtables/fruits to the central box withing a set time ( I thinks it's two hours ? Maybe 3. IDK exactly)

https://ylvapedia.wiki/wiki/Elin:Requests --> you can find helpfull infos on the quest here.

> Use axe to harvest (the better the axe's material, the faster it is)
> avoid wasting time for trips between field and box ( give crops to your pet to avoid too much trips)
> Avoid getting interupted (kill all hostiles nearby before starting harvesting)
> Don't when in Overweight ( you'll get canceled by damage)
> Focus on big crops only. crops in a single field tend t be of the same weight category
> Don't be a snail or golem. (slow) If you are, use a fast mount.

Bonus :
> Find the heavy crops immediately with scroll of map/map spell/rod
> Move around immediately with teleport spell
> Fasten yourself with Speed spell right before starting to harvest.

Yeah, the "days" on the board is just until the quest itself is taken off the board.

As for how you'd know...
Well, I guess you wouldn't.
At least you know to expect it now, it just took a small Karma/Fame hit, which is easy to make up for.

There are some tips for these types of Requests.

First, never enter these with a speed penalty if you can help it.
Try not to enter Burdened, or Tired, or Hungry.

Second, bring allies who can help carry produce.
Making trips to and from the delivery box every time you yourself can't carry more would take too much time.
(Second and a half, make sure your helpers have food, they won't hesitate to eat the crops you hand them if they're hungry)

Third, learn which crops and descriptors indicate the heaviest harvests.
Radishes are heaviest, followed by Imo, and Corn.
Though, Imo and Corn can have 1~3 crops at once, whereas radishes are 1~2.
Bigger-than-an-elephant is the best, followed by legendary, and bigger-than-a-man.
Grapes are a waste of time, and should be avoided.

Then there are just general tips, like making use of the Magic Map spell, or gamble or a Teleport/Short Teleport, throwing crops towards the collection box if you're overweight.
And, of course, stopping collecting and turning in your harvest ASAP when you see *Ending Soon* in the upper left.

also, i didnt notice if anyone mentioned, but if you gather with your pickaxe, its faster than by hand. I have no idea why, but it is.

Because tools make things easier? If you need to dig up a potato you're probably going to have a better time with a pickaxe than by hand.

Maybe, but most games would use the hoe or sickle for this, but the hoe doesnt work, and the sickle destroys the crop.
