Is the world map itself procedurally generated or just the dungeons

Just the dungeons. Technically the all tiles are as well but the type is static. The individual tiles will "reset" every so often with never generation in the tile.

So with the tile regeneration even exploring the overworld can be different?

The world map is the static, the tiles are procedurally generated once you enter them but there's not a lot of exploring to do in individual overworld tiles.

That is correct. Each overworld tile is different and always regenerating.

Yes, the same tile won't always have the same layout, it will however always be the same type of tile. A mountain tile will always be a mountain tile but it won't always have the same layout/resources. After awhile it "regenerates" itself. So it's basically half static half procedural.

Makes sense

there are a few fixed dungeons, most of them being closed as WIP for now, but all the dungeons will appear and disapear about once a month. Also, world tiles are generated when you enter them, and 'disapear' in the same way than dungeons after some time, so if you enter it again, the layout will be different

When the screen shakes and you see the "WHHRRRRRR" text, that's the tectonic plates shifting which causes tiles and dungeons on the world map to regenerate.

Basically only towns stay the same. Everything else changes like once a week or so. And the forest tiles will always be forest tiles but after the WHHRRRR event it will be new proceduraly different one so feel free to strip them of anything you need and want as it change with in a week. And some dungeons for quests like Puppy Dungeon YOU can use but the inside of the dungeon resets with every WHRRR so you can farm them early game for drops and what not till your ready to move on to tougher ones.

Also the tiles changing is good thing you might find crap in one then WHRRR and next time one next to your base has an alter you can try to take home but good luck you need good weight and to throw it to edge of the map, and you can die from picking it up or moving on world map and if you not strong enough you can't even move it on world map lol.

But still I think its worth it if you worship that god you die like 2-3 times from being crushed by it, but you can use it for months to give offering to your god of choice to get their blessings, pet, and weapon.

I thought it was some bigger lore thing that's yet to be revealed since NPCs mention stuff about Opatos stirring in his sleep causing them

People say it's Opatos, but Mani says some things that makes it sounds like he might be doing it which lines up with the mechanical "whhrrr" sound, IMO. Fairly certain it's not intended to be some "natural process."

I have some real bad feelings about Mani. I'm worried he's plotting to pull a skynet on this fantasy world.

Yes that is his stated objective.
