a question about the drafting table recipe

is it possible to get that recipe any other way besides the main quest that somehow forces you to invite this Loytel?
i prefer to just do my own thing instead of running all sorts of quests that add NPCs to my base etc, so yea, would really prefer to get that recipe otherwise.

According to Ninewiki, you can get a Drafting Table by following the workflow of benches:

Workbench > Sawmill > Carpenter's Table > Tinker's Table > Stonecutter > Drafting Table.

However it also mentions that the Drafting Table is obtained as a recipe through Fiama's Feeling, so just check your quest board after refusing to take Loytel on board and see how you go.

well, i refused that dude and in turn the quest for him remained there, only other thing would be that puppy tutorial/side-quest and the quests from my residents, that's why i was asking in the first place, so far the only place i saw a table was so damned far away in the sticks ("somewhere" at the northern end of the map) so getting one with tickets doesn't seem like a viable option either sadly.

How did you get the quest? My main quest hasn't changed at all, 45 days or so in. I'm not sure how to progress without this quest/drafting table.

As for your problem could you not just invite him in and then complete quest and banish him?

well, i did the first couple quests given by fiama and her buddy there, at least until i got to the point of that puppy rescue mission and inviting that random dude to my domain, if that didn't work for you then i got no clue what went wrong =/

and as for inviting and then banishing him after, idk, i'd just prefer freedom of choice on how to approach things without being rail-tracked into the main story just to get the very basics of base building =/
