Unrelated but do we get overmap mounts like in elona where we could buy an airship of some kind?
Simple enough not to spoil the fun like fandom wiki's telling every single detail, but also detailed enough to be understandable... like a journal of sorts, that gets filled up as you become a more seasoned adventurer? that could be fun.
you serious? so what is all that misleading stuff like blacksmith table, light/heavy armor smithing tables, bowyer table etc good for if there's no plans to let people actually craft their own
i mean seriously, what's the point besides creating the illusion that players could craft something and having a crapton of skills and crafting tables around that are literally useless...
The equipment specific crafting tables aren't accessible in the course of normal play and can only be seen in the developer room.
As for proof:
https://ylvapedia.wiki/wiki/Elin:Changelog/Alpha
Alpha 20.16
i mean the blacksmithing table is a joke, only making bolts and some scrap deco? why even have that crap at this point?
so much for offering freedom to players but in the end just forcing the "intended" gameplay loop on them with so many missleading skills/crafting stations around...
and for that "special equipment crafting", kinda sounds like what we got with the anvil atm, literally just fixing a broken weapon and that's it...
and here i thought this was supposed to be an improved elona, but the mouse controls and nice graphics aside i'd say as of now it's a complete downgrade in literally every aspect, since the systems are either feel like placeholders or are just there for the sake of being there to make it look less empty than it actually is...
farming -> useless since produce is pretty much worthless at traders and the food made of it is worse than the non-perishables from traders as well...
(not to forget that farming quests don't even use the farming skill, but gathering instead)
lifestock -> utterly useless since milk, eggs and shearing products share the same issues as crops plus you can't even butcher your lifestock for meat anymore thanks to them basically being immortal "companions" that simply respawn after a couple days
cooking -> same as with farming/ranch animals, worthless due to everything being worse than what the stores offer...
crafting -> pretty much just a pass time activity without any actual benefits, can't make money out of it, can't mayke anything except wood/stone weapons, only actually useful stuff would be chests and low level ammo since you apparently can't even make metal arrows/bolts.
so in the end that just leaves us with 2 things we can do that aren't completely useless in the long run:
fighting and playing music for some extra cash to somehow keep up with the taxes and maybe having a chance to earn enough to buy some halfway decent starting equipment.
and for just that we might as well just stick with elona since it has far more substance even in just those 2 fields while also having a way more reasonable economy, so it won't just end as a chase to earn enough to pay off the taxes.
Game will stay wishlisted for now. Unless this drastically improves I will not be buying it.
not sure if that's confirmed official comms, but would be a weird response on dev/side.
the mental, unhappy/insecure gloating LOLOLOL response in this very thread from a seeming 8-yr old isn't exactly helping either. as it has nothing to do with the actual questions, worries, official comms and requested information relevant here.
