How do you fed your pet?

How do you fed your pet? I don't want mine to die and I can't figure out how to fed it.

Pets will auto eat (depending), but you can manually give food by grabbing food from your inventory by middle mouse (or R), clicking grab. Once the food item is in your hand, you can click on the pet or ally and gift it.

you can open their inventory (click R on them/ middle mouse click, then choose TRADE ) and drop food in there

Or you can gift them by simply right click the food and gift them when they're near you
(be sure it's closer so you won't throw the food at them)
