How and where to pay taxes?
So, when I entered the area where my house is, I suddenly had a tax bill on the floor and picked it up.
The quest "Tax Liability" did not advance, so I have no idea what to do with it (especially since it seems really steep with 500 after 17 days) . I do get that I need to go to a town and found one but who will take the money from me and moreover how long do I have to pay, since I'm kinda broke...

So that small town with an elder I found won't suffice?

Palmia and Mysilia have tax chests. Also, you can use furniture tickets you get from quests or the secretary in exchange for influence (that you get for completing requests in town) to just grab it and bring it home, so that you can pay the taxes from home.

Thanks
Should that quest have updated to begin with, or was that a bug?

Edit: nvm just discovered it on accident... Apparently you need to talk to the NPC... I expected the fairy to pop up again.

How do you actually pay the bill? The tax box took my bill, but wont let me put any money in it. The secretary will let me pay in lumps, but that looks like future taxes...any tips?

When you put the bill into the box it will take the payment with it.

Another way to get the tax chest is to play the casino (or if you don't want to risk your luck, do the basketball in the casino). Tax chest costs 200 chips.

I just got the "Transfer Tax Payment" policy. Any idea how that actually works? I'm behind on a bill or two

It takes money deposited in a bank to pay your bills when they arrive.

I dunno if they work on bills that were delivered without the policy active.
