Right click is auto combat .... and throw your weapon

Why can't I disable throwing my only melee weapon when I'm one block away from an enemy? How do I disable throwing stuff?

i'd suggest equipping the weapon instead of just grabbing it, if you grab something you can only place/throw it, if you actually equip it it will get used when you're klicking on enemies instead of just face fisting them^^

Equipping a melee weapon instead of using it on your hotbar will prevent you from throwing it.

OMG -_-. thank you. was wondering why the text box was saying i was punching and kicking when i had my wooden weapon "selected" but not equipped. >_<

i think you can also adjust the auto combat AI on your character sheet on the last page.i set mine to fighter and they stopped using ranged

just dont have a thrown/ranged item on any hotbar for auto combat..it will use the ranged. As mentioned above, you have to have the melee weapon equipped in the melee slot on the equipment hotbar (default all the way right of screen). I've seen lots of videos of people making this mistake and inadvertently throwing/losing their melee weapon
