I think Unity was doing something weird because Task Manager showed the Elin.exe process tree as taking up 30% GPU (despite only showing a black screen) and having spawned UnityCrashHandler64.exe, although there was no visible crash handler window or anything of the sort. I haven't had this issue with other Unity games; hopefully it gets patched or at least a fresh reboot will resolve it if it happens again.
Hope so, in the meantime ive gotten by on my cloud gaming :)
I'll pull a few that's "totally not relevant" but also blackscreen or freezing on startup of games that run on unity.
1st dump, try going to steam game properties and add " -screen-width yournumber -screen-height yournumber -screen-fullscreen 1 " (without the "", and your resolution)
2nd dump, try go to BIOS and disable intel turbo boost technology . intel turbo boost max technology 3.0 . CPU flex ratio override.
