older laptop black screen on startup
I opened it at first and DID get language options and now every other attempt ive only had a black screen, I do have some unity games that work and some that dont. I cannot in my situation upgrade any of my hardware but I do have shadow pc as backup in case I cant get my base steam working. My question is does the game need a heavy gpu to run I have an older 2019 vega 8 lenovo integrated. Did play a bit on shadow and love it so far sadly shadow for me has some lag and latency issues. If anyone knows any fixes that could help for black screen id be thankful, otherwise I guess ill get by with my cloud gaming :')

Having the same black screen issue, nothing seems to fix it including deleting config. Game worked fine on the first run but wont work anymore.

My computer isn't very old, but I saw a similar black screen issue. I played the game for 4 hours yesterday, went tp sleep, and then when I tried to launch it again this morning my screen was black before getting to the title screen. I restarted my computer and it seems to be working again.

I think Unity was doing something weird because Task Manager showed the Elin.exe process tree as taking up 30% GPU (despite only showing a black screen) and having spawned UnityCrashHandler64.exe, although there was no visible crash handler window or anything of the sort. I haven't had this issue with other Unity games; hopefully it gets patched or at least a fresh reboot will resolve it if it happens again.

there's so many issues with unity it ain't funny.
I'll pull a few that's "totally not relevant" but also blackscreen or freezing on startup of games that run on unity.
1st dump, try going to steam game properties and add " -screen-width yournumber -screen-height yournumber -screen-fullscreen 1 " (without the "", and your resolution)

2nd dump, try go to BIOS and disable intel turbo boost technology . intel turbo boost max technology 3.0 . CPU flex ratio override.
