Bait from scrap, best path?
I've seen two paths, wondering which is best. The first is the commonest, seen on https://ylvapedia.wiki/wiki/User:Krious/CraftingSecrets

  • make a nail from metal, especially scrap
  • dismantle it with a hammer to make a metal bone
  • make the bone into bait.

However I also saw a comment somewhere on here that suggested the above with a twist:
  • make a nail from metal, especially scrap
  • dismantle it with a hammer to make a metal bone
  • grind the bones into dust
  • dismantle the dust to make corpses
  • make the corpses into bait.

Wondering which is more efficient? The second takes quite a bit more stamina, but I'm curious if you get more bait out of the same scrap.

Bone dust to corpses is the most efficient. It trains your cooking skill too. At higher cooking skills, I grind ~400 bones into 750-800 bone dust. That will give me around 750 bait. Just did this a few minutes ago, looking through forums while my character grinds fishing haha
Ok so a recent one that my partner actually found out about is this.

Go into a tile, collect flowers
Dismantle flowers with a hammer into leaves
Turn leaves into makeshift arrows
Because the flowers are considered a food item the arrows are made out of raw food
Put the arrows into a composter
Turn the arrows into fertilizer
Dismantle the fertilizer into corpses
Turn corpses into bait

With this method in about half an hour I managed to acquire well over 25k bait worth of materials which I am now attempting to go through.

This is however BY FAR the fastest method of acquiring bait if that's what you're looking for.

Edit: Because of how the corpses are made they also don't rot because technically the corpses end up being made out of soil rather then food. Meaning you can store them if you ever want to swap gods and quickly max it out.
