Turn scrap into ingot?
Is there any way to turn scrap into ingots? I can harvest tons of copper scrap from machinarium dungeons but can't do as much with it as I'd like.

I think, if you use scrap when making a Lantern, if you hammer the lantern, it will give back an ingot instead of scrap.

you get back 1 ore doing that, you have to smelt it for the ingot, but it works, but i think it's too much work for getting 1 copper ore

you can turn those scraps into bones, and either make baits with them, or grind them into powder, hammer said power to obtain corpses to either cook, dismantle at the butcher tool, or turn them into fertilizer.

And how does that help him/her get an ingot?

as Iyasenu said in a previous post, he can obtain 1 piece of copper ore using an hammer on a crafted old lantern. but said lantern cost 4 scraps, 2 threads, 1 bone needle and 2 resin to craft it. as i said too much investment for the return of 1 copper ore

Oh, oops it was an Ore not an ingot!
Thanks for the correction, Mantu.

Why would you use it on copper? Use it on chromite from the tracks in a nefia or something

i know there are more valuable materials, but the op said he had tons of copper scrap he didn't know what to do with. And as he explicitly wrote copper, i just said it's not worth trying to convert said copper scrap into the raw resource copper ore.

Oh yes, I see. Copper scrap for sure just make into nails and then into bones. Get your digging up, get some chromite, and make bullets or something

I don't even grind the crafting by nails > bone > nails but I've already gone through several thousand copper scrap for baits and such

thank you! machinarium have conveyer belts, which give scraps made of chromite once you dig them, which is very hard material what could be used as good pickaxe or shovel
Copper scrap is great for making nails and a few other consumable things. Avoid harvesting a lot of scrap unless you intend to specifically make bait OR crafting with nails for grinding levels with them due to conversion. Scrap doesn't have an efficiency transmute to ore.

Lantern isn't worth doing, the time spent in your settlement crafting the sub components versus walking a few tiles away from the meadow to the mountain/puppy/ or other over-world map tile is woefully ineffective compared to just mining ore. Thats really it, another example of this same problem is with FRAGMENTS such as jade, none ore diamond, amethyst, and etc have the same problem in that you either make glass or ignore it outright.
