Its viable, but you'll have to manage without a tank in the Void which can get pretty strenuous the deeper you go. With the right race/class mix, you can have enough survivability to make it work long term, but maintaining companions really doesn't take long and is pretty much effortless if you are cooking and farming for your own food anyway.
When you have as many party slots as possible (+1 from every 10 charisma, up to 5, and then +3 from feats), and then max out the feat (can take it 5 times), it adds up to 40% extra health, mana and speed. This % boost is added after everything else; it's not boosting your base stats. So if you total 200 speed without the feat thanks to gear and other feat boosts, then the feat will make your speed up to 280.
I feel like it's really good to take on fairies. Early on you'll want a mount to prevent dying so easily, but with it and if you have mana body, it makes you so tanky, and lets you move so incredibly fast on the battlefield. Pair the 40% mana boost from the feat with Itzpalt staffs' 40% mana boost and you will have so much mana to tank with.
Finished Nymelle by 3rd month and Reached the void by the end of the first year as a solo Nefu mage, without specially trying to rush. The lone sould perk was my sole feat focus as soon as I got 2 levels in dream waker, then party animal for the additional slots/boost.
It worked out pretty well for me in the end. And the additional HP definitelly saved my arse from a oneshot a lot of times.
