How to get more piety for Ehekatl of Luck??
I have spent at least 5 hours getting bait and catching fish for Ehekatl's altar, and have made very little progress. Is there a better way to farm piety, or is it just a massive grind any way you go about it?

Well you could farm money instead and just buy a bunch of fish, that's what i did

Fish or corpses seem to be the only offerings Ehekatl accepts.

The wiki states the piety gain for stuff like corpses and fish is based on the weight of the offering.
Originally posted by Wiki:
The value of offerings other than books and rods depends on the weight per item.

Corpses gain piety equal to twice their weight (1 point per 0.5 s).

However, nameless corpses obtained by dismantling items with a hammer are severely diminished in value (about 0.1 piety/1.0s), as are rotting corpses.

The piety gain for offerings other than corpses are 1 point when they are less than 0.5 s. Offerings heavier than 0.5 s receive a piety equal to twice their weight (1 point per 0.5 s).

However, the maximum amount of piety gained from a single offering is 20 points, no matter how heavy it is, such as a shark (280.0s) or a whale (1200.0s).

If the offering is rotten, it gains piety at a rate of 0.2/1.0s, and if it is less than 0.5s, it gains 0.1 point of piety.

Stacking and dedicating items increases the strength of each offering.

However, there is an upper limit to the amount of piety that can be increased by a single offering, and if too many items are offered at once, the excess will be wasted.

The maximum amount is 30 points, so it is advisable to make offerings in smaller portions.

Other than just keeping up the fishing, I could recommend not offering too much in one big heap, due to the cap on piety gain from a single chunk of offerings.

I guess according to this, you could offer, like 30 tadpoles at once for 30 piety, but any more than that in one stack would be wasted.

I dunno how you've been farming bait, but some popular methods of getting a ton of bait are mass-farming mushrooms, or doing something like mining scrap from Machinarium-type Nefia, then turning that scrap into Nails, then hammering the Nails into bones to turn into bait.
Or, turning the Nails into bones, then grinding the bones into dust, then hammering the dust into Corpses, then turning the Corpses into bait.

How high is your faith? Your piety maxes out based on how high your faith is. I think I had 30+ by the time I got Ehekatl's weapon.

Also you want to prioritize donating the heavy fish on the altar. Small fish are better off turned into bonito flakes.

I have faith 25 at the moment, i'm still trying to get the follower. Guess i will try bringing my cooler to a town and filling it up with fish from a vendor, Mining copper and turning it into bone is the quickest way of making bait i have found so far. Thanks for the help!

At least since you're at 25 Faith your piety cap is enough to get the follower.
Though the Artifact will require ~30 Faith.

You may want to train the Faith skill somewhere like Willow.
Especially before the next big stream of offerings.

I'm planning on going for Ehekatl eventually, myself, so I guess I'd better prepare myself for a bunch of fish-finding.

Oh and of course, don't forget to manually pray, if you've been relying on the Believer feat's autopray at the end of the day.
You won't get any presents from your god if you don't manually pray.

You can also kill Dodos to hopefully get corpses from them. Their corpses weigh 8.8s or something like that, so they're amazing for offerings.

since you can make baits with corpses, you can get a big amount of them by using flowers and the hammer. Dismantle the flowers, you'll get leaves made of raw food, use them with sticks to craft makeshift arrows and put them inside a composter. Then once you get fertilizer out of them, hammer it and you'll get plenty of corpses. Watch out for stamina exhaustion.

converting altars gives a +1 flat bonus from Void, and +5 from other god's Altars, So let's say you use a 5s corpse to convert it, you get +10 piety instead of +5. It also increase your faith way more. Converting an altar with a 7-8s+ corpse usually grant you half a faith level

Go in ruins with scrap walls (the rusted looking ones). Mine the walls to get scrap, craft the scrap into nails, deconstruct nails with the hammer to get bones and craft the bones into bait. Then fish like there's no tomorrow.

It's a strategy best done within the first 90 days to benefit from the no penalty from resurrecting, since you'll be burning 400-500 stamina in one go if you want to be optimal.
