Romance and love potions?
Romance and love potions?
So I'm deeply confused about the extent of romancing characters, and the use of love potions in the game. Using gifts/quests/talking, you can increase a character's affinity to 'Fond', but that's as far as it gets. You can set them to sleep in the same bed with you, but else nothing happens, there's no romantic options, certainly no spicy option like what we have with drunk villagers. Is there any reason to raise affinity then outside of personal roleplay?

Also, there's a love potion in the game, that inflicts the 'dimmed' status. If you try and gift it to an npc, or even trade it into a follower's bag. it just makes them angry and reduces their affinity. What's the point then?

You want to get above 75 affinity so you can manage their equipment, anything above that is going to be a buffer in case they die and lose some of that affinity. Beyond the sleep next to you option at 150 affinity there's not much else there yet, but I'm pretty sure it's a system that is going to be expanded.

If you throw a love potion at a character they gain like +25 base affinity and have a chance to lay an egg (which has a chance to be fertilized). This "annoys" them and there's a comment about them frowning, but if you just do one it should be an affinity gain. If you throw more they eventually turn hostile and attack you. The affinity gain probably has diminishing returns like most sources of affinity gain, but I haven't tested it much.
You can also middle-click the love potion and use Blend to put the effect on food, which they'll be perfectly fine with accepting. Same for Succubus' Dream Larva.

Which honestly seems to do nothing at all. Parasitic hosting is the best aspect of Succubus because then your sprite will auto-fire at any monsters nearby.

It does the same thing as Love Potion, which is that the consumer has a chance to produce milk or lay an egg after eating it.
Thanks for the advice, I wasn't familiar with the blending option. I do wish there was more to the romance aspect tho, guess I'll just have to wait out updates for now.
Dream Larva make possible to hire any person in a world(except high guild member), you still have enough charisma (white girl from mainquest in Misilia need 139 charisma lol) and some of them you should beat first. No more slave market or spend gold bar for hire personal on base. Dream Larva is OP!
