Development / Road Map?
Is there a planned features plan? Also: Haven't played elona, so if that is the blueprint for future features, then I have no idea what to do with that info

So far no public roadmap i believe

but if you are worried about updates just go on their discord and follow the updates there
they first update the test version of the game before they update the release version

I would not use Elona as a roadmap. The developer abandoned Elona very early on; all the praise you see about Elona nowadays is because of fan-made expansions.

You can check out the Kickstarter page for Elin if you want to see some of what's planned.

"Abandoned"
"Very early on"

>Development from 2006 to 2010
>Game completed at 1.0, Zeome could be defeated, ending implemented
>Stayed on until 1.24 to add systems, content, and a festival
>Several pieces of additional content like South Tyris and artifact fusion were planned but not implemented; these were additional experiments that came after the game was finished

Implying that Elona was somehow incomplete or left in an unfinished state after a quick dev period is just plain disingenuous. Mods may have added a lot more content, but vanilla Elona was complete by the time development stopped and other projects came into view.

But hey, whether it's a deliberate lie or just opining in ignorance on facts that're easily available on a wiki, it just keeps happening.

As for a roadmap, as has been mentioned above, check the KS page for the stretch goals.

Particularly Bloodyshade and SableEye
Melee combat was announced for a overhaul back in mid-December. It was planned for June/summer.
Kickstarter provides no real insight into planned content. There will be extra dimensions... gates exist and each nefia could be a portal to another world so this isn't revolutionary. I Will be happy when all the map locations that are sealed begin to open up with little insights into the world building.

Read it right and you will see the amount of content that has not yet been implemented but has already reached the goal, such as creating your own Dungeon to profit, having your own guild and building blueprints for example.

The problem here is that you consider killing Zeome a decent ending.

Not only has the adventure been fairly short, the player character themselves has barely done anything.
They grab a couple rocks, encounter some forgettable nobodies in Lesimas from time to time and then eventually kill Zeome.
Killing Zeome is wonderful. The process unlocks the mysterious Codex. They reach for it and..
What does the Codex do? Who cares! Here's your score.

And of course, since you worship the wiki as factual truth... The wiki itself states that development was discontinued. Not completed, discontinued.
The source code was also released to allow others to continue development the game. Continuing development of the game? I thought it was complete and finished..?
I mean... that's pretty good for a game written in what, some kind of teaching programming language? And now it's 20 years later. So most of the people who tried it back then are in or past their 30s.

Are you able to read. Like the OP and what the entire question is related to "blueprint for future **features** specifically.

Literally "future features" appear in the post not once but twice.

Why would i go on and on about thing unrelated to the question. There are enough die hard fans that will fawn all over it and expound endlessly about how many things you can *Already* do in the game.
