Be careful with music on Eternal Oath
I was playing for the last week on Eternal Oath on a Golem Farmer seeing how far I could get with skills and playing it mostly safe. This is unmodded too. Everything was fine, but I decided to try some music the last few days. I was in a filled food status and while my stamina was low while in my house. I have about 12 citizens around me in a small house and I have a max health of over 315.
One person tossed a dirty water and me, which caused me to vomit and I immediately took almost 8000 damage which was instant death, despite all my precautions up until now.
It could be intended I guess to teach people with low music? But if that is the small chance of it on Eternal Oath then people should stay clear of Music as is unless this is overtuned.
I have a screenshot if anyone wants to see it.

Were you playing music to folks that looked like beggars? That's generally where I'd start at when my music is at a very low level.

It was in my town, but the man who threw the pot of dirty water was a level 5 merchant citizen. I don't think there was any damage test, it just causes you to heave your lunch and detects you are empty and deals maximum damage to you.

Its sad that it blew up 40 hours~ or so of effort, but I learned to not do music. Everything else I could more or less control the risk for.

I am thinking for my new eternal oath character either demigod and beeline for as much god gear as quickly as possible or fairy beserker and hope to get mani ring before a stray magic arrow strikes me.

Wait, so what's stopping you from farming dirty water, and instant killing dungeon boss's?

Are they immune to the damage on vomiting thing or...?

At least i recall in elona, they had to make the god's immune to starvation vomiting for this very reason, i wonder if that carried over.

I've been killed by that before, but in my case it took 3 "vomits" to kill my character, and multiple dirty waters thrown at me. I had auto-repeat music on and wasn't paying attention, threw up twice which emptied my character's stomach, then the third time caused a few thousand "starvation damage." There are other ways for low music to kill you though, it's very important to pay attention to the audience at low skill, guards and unique combat NPCs can throw stones that do hundreds of damage for example. Children tend to be pretty harmless though and easy to please, so like practicing at the orphanage is relatively safe.

Yeah, I'm starting to think its safer going into dungeons than testing my luck with citizens who would think my music sucks and would throw some random thing that can insta kill me.
taking thousands of starvation damage instantly feels like an oversight, but it was no less rough starting out performance in elona...if you didnt perform next to only a filthy level 1 beggar, there was a chance you would be instantly one shotted by some random npc that threw a rock at you. if you target someone, you can get a sense of whether or not you can realistically perform next to them at lv 1 performance in that itll say something like "you could beat them with your eyes closed", making sure everyone around me meets this criteria would be my starting point. although i heard you can also set a law in your house thats like "no violence allowed" which may let you perform freely?

I had someone beam a slate rock at me during a music quest. This was with level 50 music and a lot of applause/positive events.

Just some random blacksmith and his boulder, one shot and insta kill.

ironically, the main point of music quests is not to perform but to kill specific npcs that can spawn during it for their crap and then proceed to fail the quest on purpose
