So instead of sawing those up, put them in a brewery barrel to turn into wine directly.
I read through some old patch note on the wiki that mentioned:
Which makes it sound like if you use a Golden Material Hammer on a statue it makes it functional again.
But, I not only have never fished up or brought back a statue to test this myself, but I don't have a Gold Material Hammer, either.
Edit: Oh, actually the wiki has a page on statues and mentions that using a Gold Material Hammer on a used statue will make it able to be used once more.

Another question sorry, does fishing location provide better fish? or can i just use the 5x5 pool with a deep spot just like any other?
The only thing that makes a difference (besides Fishing skill level) is whether you're fishing in a plot of land that has an ACTIVE land feat affecting the chance to fish up 2 fish at once.
These feats are Beach, Sea, and Fishing Spot.
Beach and Sea are the innate land feat of (you guessed it) Beach or Sea tiles, and give +20% chance to catch +1 fish.
Fishing Spot can appear on any tile, randomly, and gives +25% chance to catch +1 fish.
But you'd have to make a settlement either on a beach or on an ocean tile and level up the hearth stone in order to make use of that, because at low hearth stone levels, and on unclaimed land, the feats are inactive.
By the by, you can check what land feats a tile can earn by checking the upper left info while you're on an unclaimed tile.
And you can check what feats you can unlock on your owned tiles by looking in your Journal > Locations tab.
Anyways, if you buy a land deed and want to get a tile that has both Beach/Sea AND Fishing Spot, just check the upper left info when you're out scouting a location.
It'd take some effort, but it could be worth it to have a dedicated fishing place getaway.
You can go buy a Land Deed from a Scrivener NPC.
There's one in Mysilia, and also at the Embassy.
