I thought it only degraded thing's like weapon's and armor.
And, it won't destroy them, just make them rust (i.e. go from +2 to +1, or +0 to -1).
The best you'll need to worry about is containers made of fireproof materials and carrying around fireproof and coldproof blankets to protect your items.
Since you're using a plastic container, you'll only have to worry about ice damage destroying it.
Sure, just because a container is fireproof doesn't mean things INSIDE it are safe from fire, but it's always good to keep your containers from being able to be destroyed, since if a container is destroyed, everything in it is lost, too.
But, you don't have to worry about acidproofing your containers.
Though, I guess to answer the initial question, I guess one way would be to create the pouch out of acidproof textiles, like dragon scales, which can be sheared from drakes, wyverns, dragons, and mass monsters.
Does my own resistance reduce the chance of my items being targeted or not at all?
I'm immune to fire and have a superb resistance to ice so i'd like to know
Again, as I've heard (not 100% sure) - 15 fire/ice resistance total from items/buffs/etc (I guess it counts the "*" stars?) is enough for a total immunity. But yeah, every bit of resistance further reduces the chance of fire/iceproof blankets being consumed (or items being destroyed if you don't have any blankets left)
My lv 31 character for example has exactly 4 Fire resistance, as all equipment I get is either not adding fire resistance at all, or is so much worse than my current equipment that I have to keep that anyway.
By endgame, enemies that use fire will be one shot by you and your pets/allies, that means that on average they will get off a single attack and with strong/15 resistance that is typically enough to get through most encounters.
Itzpalt of Element is the best God because of this. You can equip his weapon to an ally and you'd be immune to fire/burning, ice/freezing and lightning/paralysis. If you grab Yevan of Strife's weapon warbringer and use that you'd be immune to cut/bleed as well since you only need 10 for cut immunity and it isn't a faction bonus but a weapon effect.
That being said, to answer OP's question. If you make backpacks out of scales or dragonscales they will be fireproof or fireproof and acidproof respectively. It does protect the items inside. Though the items in you main inventory till still be susceptible to damage. That means you always need blankets unless you have immunity like with Itzpalt.
not sure if the burning status is the cause item to burn
i think its fire attacks... maybe burn chances?
i always bring water can to dungeon, not once burned when fighting fire boss
my item still burn even if i'm not burned
fire blanket charges still consumed even if i'm not burned
but if you are burned, chances for your item to burn is higher
i always bring my cooler box with me for food
fireproof container only protect the container from burning, not the item in it
my cream puff still burn
what's the advantage having fireproof container?
so that your item did not burn along with your bag, a burned container means everything in it burned to ashes
acid will cause equipment to have -1 status, container have no such status so its meaningless and acid proof status only applies to the container
