How to build anything in this game

title im trying to build a workbench i found the recipe search its there but i cant click or do anything to it, i do have the material it need i cant find any build menu or anything except the search recipe

You need to open up your Abilities window and use the Quick Craft ability.
The button for the Abilities window is next to the inventory button, at the bottom of the screen.

Can also just hit the B key (default) to open it up.

You also have to actually have the recipes and learn them, fwiw.
