You don't need to reach -100 Karma, you just need to lose a total of 100 Karma after accepting the quest.
So you can lose 5 Karma, then go do some quests and regain 5 Karma, then lose more, etc. etc. until you've lost a total of 100.
But outside of classes (Archer, Gunner, Inquisitor) and race (Yerles) that start with the Marksman skill, just joining the Thieves Guild and learning it is the most direct and RNG-less way to get it done.
The thief guild requires are a lot easier than they sound, you just need to lose 100 karma total, not drop to -100. You can do very basic stuff like harvest berries or crops in towns, or kick sleeping NPCs to wake them up, to drop 1 karma at a time, then turn in quests to bring it back up. You can join the thief guild without ever dropping below 99 karma if you want, and without ever angering a guard.
Another question, is there any downsides to being in guilds? can i be in all of them? or just one?
For now, stick to either breaking walls, or kicking people (middle-click, Kick).
You should think about going to Derphy, going to the fancy mansion in the lower part of town, and entering the stairs in the bath water. There should be a golden statue of Lulwy near it, and some corpses.
... at least, I think that was the right staircase.
There's another staircase in town that just leads to some underground brothel.
That should lead to the Thieves Guild treasure vault.
There you can mine the walls for gold stone blocks, which you can use a Sculpting Table to turn into statues, which sell for a decent chunk of change.
Now, I haven't actually done it, but I hear being negative karma causes guards to attack you on sight.
There are ways to gain karma without going to a town that has guards, of course.
And Derphy actually doesn't have guards, so it's safe no matter how deep your karma goes into the negatives.
But, it's probably better to just not hit negative karma.
