the sound, appearance and weight. The iron mic and wooden gong have build in performance improvement stats, but from my experience it doesn't really matter so much. Choose whatever suits you best, although I'd recommend against a piano since the weight could be a big issue (you could use a paper hammer and make it lighter i suppose but yeah). Oh, also, the iron mic and panties are throwing weapons if that makes them attractive to you at all.

Maybe there will be more distinctions in the future.

Also, I think the lute has multiple songs, as I'm really proficient in the first 'song' due to music quests, but when i get into the second song's territory i start failing as i rarely reach that far due to the time limit. The iron mic got on my nerves very quickly since music was my main source of income. I prefer the lute.

Haha, this must be why the Pianist class starts with Weightlifting learned by default.

I got an iron mic yesterday, doubles as a throwing weapon, i'm hoping there's like a legendary/godly type effect that labels it "Tyson" then it'd be complete.

For now, I think carrying-playing multiple (light) instruments help to avoid getting one-shot by an angry npc.

For example, during many stars concert quests - playing just one instrument increases odds of getting killed. I tried "one instrument only" yesterday, playing for crowds which have a lot of formidable npcs / vendors (I look for areas which have many flashes).

"A Big Sister" one-shot me. After getting killed about three times by "A Big Sister", I went back to playing multiple instruments.

This was at Palmia concert quests wherein my fame level was in the 400's and my music level in the 80's.

But playing for kids gives less orens.

I'm at about... 8000 orens per day.

I'd rather just play multiple instruments.
