It will randomly short if you are too close to capacity or if you leave it outside. But it's not permanently damaged or anything.

from the truce grounds. Happened into a paper hammer so I use just that to haul it back home.

pfft yea, the truce grounds generator is a blessing for sure, but i hauled mine back at full weight, or well, to the giant tree, always going one tile, then stopping to heal back up and continue, since i only found one hemp hammer as far as light material hammers go and i used that one on a kumiromi altar, really saved me a lot of trouble since i found that hammer during the first month so getting kumiromi piety and favor up was a breeze =D
