Purse disappeared - 50 hrs gone

I went was in a dungeon and picked up a gold bar and realized my 'purse' was missing. I have no idea how or why. I did a ctrl+f on the world map, on the dungeon levels, on all the grass tiles I could remember being on to get to the dungeon (they hadn't reset yet). No luck. Not in my base, not in a box anywhere.

All my platinum gold bars and Orels are gone. can't pay taxes, can't train.
All will to play is gone. Too late i realize you can mark things as important, wish i had known. Somehow i threw away all my collected money.

In this situation, I think it would be okay to use the console commands to give yourself your money back.

Did a gnome steal it from you maybe? I had gold bars stolen and was chasing that little bastard all around the map after that.

Do they steal an entire purse though? I'd think gnomes only steal the money itself.
If I knew the console commands and how much i had lost exactly I might do that but then the play feels tainted somehow, like I cheated.

I might just restart, right now I'm too bummed. thanks for the tip on gnomes.

I have never had a gnome take my entire purse, yet...

It's highly likely you lost your purse from taking, fire or ice damage, every instance of damage without fire/ice proof blanket's or 15 resist to fire/ice (according to the wiki) has a chance to destroy something in your inventory, including equips and well, just about anything really, though if the item itself say's it's fireproof, then you only really need to worry about it being shattered by ice.

I have no idea what happen's to container's that get destroyed, but i have heard it just delete's everything in the container, which would suck if it's true, i would check any area's where you ran into fire/ice enemies, maybe your stuff's still there?

If you do end up using the blanket's, make sure to have both, as the fire proof blanket's can be shattered, and the ice proof blanket's burned...

If a container is destroyed by fire/ice everything inside it is deleted. It should be a pretty high priority to replace that purse with like a fireproof plastic pouch. Stack up fireproof blankets later to protect your stuff from fire. Ice generally isn't a concern until higher levels, even then it's pretty rare, and a few coldproof blankets will last you ages and protect anything from being destroyed by that. There is no coldproof tag for equipment.

I've never seen a gnome take a container, or currency. Fairies can steal oren. Protection from stealing is still pretty useful to avoid annoyances of having like a stack of enchant weapon scrolls being stolen from you.

I am fairly certain it doesn't. Acid only targets equipment, I've never seen it attempt to damage anything else.

probably not missing... purses are not fire proof , probably got burned .. defin should replace defauly purse with a fireproof bag craft asap;

this can be done pretty early in run just shear the local mermaids, then get a loom and weave up some new bags, consequency everything put in said bags also become fireproof while in that bag so no more losing inventory.

later on you can shear wyverns and dragons and make bags that both fire and acid proof

acid will not pew pew containters. only fire, however acid will give -x attributes to stuff in containers. unless its in acid / fire proof bag. defin. should be one of the first items you craft on a run, go shear the mermaid at Olivana south of starting meadow. defin worth do that before going to deep to dungeons

Make yourself a nice dragonscale purse. You can easily make one by making the little dragon you get into live stock and having pasture in a shared chest. Then just use shears on him when his scales regrow. Then go ahead and make three dragonscale backpacks and keep most of your important items in them just in case.

Always better to be safe than sorry for when your blankets run out.

Or just pick Element as your God and be immune to fire and ice and ignore the whole mechanic...

Yeesh, a purse is just a container that happens to have your money in it, yeah?
What's keeping enemies from stealing any other entire bag...
