i'd probably have the same reaction if i saw that particular combination of letters in the wild anywhere else either. i have met, i believe, 3 people with my name before and i think 5 people with my birthday including one in the same year. you don't generally randomly stumble upon it when browsing steam though.
incidentally, we are all worlds unto ourselves, perhaps you should take the view that you are more special than you believe, joy is a choice.
i don't know, i thought it was humorous, but there appear to be a lot of people on here who were confused... or well, i won't speculate.
people with the name Elin, probably will find it even more disconcerting. i've never seen it used as a name, but I can only imagine how odd it would be to see my full name on a billboard or something.
is a common name in Northern Europe.
Edit: Also in Northern England/Scottland too, but less common since is one of the fey/fairy names.
Honestly, you have to be pretty filled with yourself to care when your name isn't even that.
*roll eyes*
Okay, you are weird.
Tons of billboard have names on it.
/I am gonna back out of the room now and leave the weirdo to his own devices.
I type my name into Steam and I get several different games that have my name in them full-stop. My name is even more common than yours -- I do not have that reaction, because a name doesn't mean it's you. It's a name - something people speak to identify you as a label, but it doesn't make you, you.
RIP
lets take one step back and think
imagine this...
you are walking in a shopping street with your family
or someone close to you
the street is full with people, maybe its festive season
suddenly you found a shop with a name exactly as yours
and you immediately turn and shout to all the people around you
"Hey! this shop have the same name as me!"
what would people around you react?
someone close to you may react
"yea, i wonder if the owner have the same name"
someone mean in the crowd will probably say something horrible or ridicule you loudly
most of the people around you may either ignore or smile, either sincerely or condescendingly
just think about it
most response u see here is from people that smile at you
