Is there a way to fireproof/coldproof an item that has already been made?
Bought something from the black market with pretty good stats but it wasn't fireproof/coldproof. I've only ever gotten acid proofing potions. Is there such a thing as fire proof/cold proof potions?

There's no coldproof on any items. Fireproof you can get by using a material hammer to convert the item into a fireproof material, but it's very RNG finding a hammer of a decent material. They only come from fairly rare shrines.

It's easier to use fire/cold blankets in your inventory to stop fire/cold damage from happening in the first place.
change the material to a material that is firerpoof via a material kit. You will occasionally find material kit shrines, and IIRC opatos statues grant a random material kit. Not super common but something to keep in mind.

Fire/coldproofing is easier than that though. Make a loom and you can craft fire/coldproof blankets. If you have good fire/cold resistance and blankets on hard items getting destroyed by fire/cold damage essentially becomes a non-issue.

Won't hammering the item change the stats as well?
