There are definitely some specialized races, but I think anyone can become a "jack of all trades" with enough care.
For class, if you tick the checkbox in the lower... right, I think during character creation to enable bonuses class/race options, you could try the Sword Sage class.
succubus (better at recruiting npcs than others) and chaos shape (starts with fewer limbs/equip slots, but gains more as it levels) have playstyles unique to them that you'd miss out on as any other race.
for class... i'd say gunner is probably the most balanced. no strength, but it's got a decent spread of everything else and their class feat is +15 luck. or just go with something that balances out the potentials from your race choice.
Should probably make a mod request thread where people can read suggestions and make what they feel like
