There's some recommendations around the board, and there should be one to fit your playstyle.
Getting a town kitted up for tourism value and some sort of production, like farming, is a good start.
Or, you could just go the active way and become a professional Nefia-diver and beat the bosses for treasures.
As the years pass by, it should only get easier.
But, as always, if taxes get too high, try selling your fame to informers.
1 fame = 2 oren bonus to taxes each month, so if you aren't doing the high level Nefias/quests that high fame allows, you might as well sell it for pocket change and lower bills.
it has been kinda crazy because i don't wanna sell my fame because it will lower the dungeons lvls kinda stuck in a grind loop
I'm barely at the end of year 2 in my game, so I can't be totally sure.
But, if I read right, it shouldn't infinitely scale. Later on the fame tax should be the bigger part.
I've heard the annual increase caps out at 5k (or 5 years?). That said in both my runs I'm over 500 days into the game, with over 50 hours played in each, and I haven't seen any sign of this annual tax increase.
You do get 500 increased taxes per plot you own, so well into year 2 I am paying 1k base tax, but that's because I own two plots.
Tax is not an issue in this game, you really don't need to worry about it.
You could pay even MORE taxes!
Pfft, but no really, you can just find a secretary in a town (or assign one of your citizens as your Maid) and request to pay additional taxes.
It's basically turning your spare Oren into extra gold bars.
Well, maybe you don't want to, but that's at least something to do with it, once you start running low on things Oren can buy.
I would but it makes me furious that the gold bars you get from that dont stack with the normal ones, so I am choosing not to even though I really need gold bars since a maxed plot takes thousands.
Ha ! Jokes on you, I am half a year in and already paying 6k per month (mostly because of fame)
That being said, Vernis mine pay more than double than that in only a few days, and will recharge about twice per month or so.
Gemstones from the mine ? 10-12k (worth 70+ each)
Minecarts from the first 3 levels ? 4-8k (worth 375+ each)
Even the bumpers at the end of the rails sell for 75 each and are easy to grab.
And if I need it, Acqui Teola is not even at 1 day of walk, there are always tons of adventurer there to spawn nefias of my level, and I can spam kill, exterminate and war/monster den quests there to rack tons of money
Tax isn't really a problem, you'll find plenty of ways to make lots of money as you keep playing. And you can ask on the forum if you don't =)
All of my passive income from the above combined provides me with roughly 70k every month and my tax is 5k (base + fame) and I would consider my character in the 'mid-game'. I've mainly focused on passive income production so a more combat focused character might be less, but it's still relatively easy to get enough passive going that you can cover the tax.
