Effective Recipe Aquisition

I'm a little way into the game, and I'm wondering what's the best way to get blacksmithing recipes. I looked in all of the main towns, and I can't find a shop which sells them.

Are they even incorporated into the game yet? I only have the ancient weapon recipe option.

There is a perk that gives a chance to get a recipe every time you sleep. With the god pillow you can buy at the casino, it's nearly a 100% chance.

Gear quality depends on your crafting skill. By the time you get a sufficient crafting or blacksmithing level you should have most recipes unlocked anyways. Production skills are rather difficult to improve, they're good early game if you just want something to fill the empty equipment slot, that's about it. Especially since dungeon gear is usually better. I don't even know of you can craft precious quality gear.

Honestly, it's a better idea to hunt down gear you want. Like if you want a scythe, become pious and go beg kumiromi. If you want the freaking dragon slayer from berserker, go delving or search for small medals to buy it. Stuff like that.

Id suggest dont spent your time on blacksmith, crafted gears are significantly weaker, if not completely waste of material

errrrrr i make all my own gear and it is rather snazzy

Blacksmithing, alchemy, and some other craft skills do not appear to be fully implemented yet

for the implimented stuff you can save in front of a wheel of fortune shrine and touch it, getting a random recipe. Although the random generation of what you get is rather huge you can reload if you want something a little better. I reload if i get Poster (7) or something similar.

We'll eventually get a robust crafting system however i rec leveling blacksmithing for generator. Crafting is easy to level just break down casino chips btw. Usually do that when I get restores in dives.

You can make weapons/equipment out of metal by converting ingots into stones or logs using the disassembling trick

• Use an ingot to make a woodcutter's axe, and disassemble it to get a metallic stone
  
• Use the metallic stone at the mason's table
  
• Make a statue at the sculpting table (ingot or cut stone), and disassemble the statue to get a metallic log (seems to be 50% chance to fail)
  
• Use the metallic log at the carpenter's table (or disassemble it for a branch if you need sticks)
  
• You can also get shining ore (to make gems) of silver/gold/platinum if you disassemble a weapon made with one of those metals
