How can I automate farming, fishing, etc...
I want to learn how to make it so that I can have the crops that are farmed and the fish to be sold automatically, or to be put into a shipping chest automatically. How can I do this? My crops and fish are always rotted by the time I get back to my base so this would be very helpful.

The simplest way should be to set a chest 'for sale' with the sales tag, put in something that never sells (burnable garbage should work) and set it's distribution settings to only accept vegetables and fish, and give it high priority. Now when your veggies or fish get made automatically they should be dumped in that chest and sold.

I haven't done that myself, but I do have all my veggies going into my fridge so they don't rot before I can cook them. No reason I couldn't slap a sales tag on it and have them get sold instead.

For farming, you need to upgrade your Hearth (home) Stone to at least level 2 to get the Delegated Farming Policy.

That enables you to use Farming Signs (Sign Workshop) to automatically harvest/replant whatever crops are planted (at less efficiency than if you do it), and the crops get auto-dumped into the shipping chest - as long as you have a resident capable of Farming obviously*.

Fishing is automatic just with a Fishing Sign without anything else needed, but their priority seems to be any other shared container rather than the shipping one. I'm still in the early stretches of figuring out how to best organise stuff myself, but I hope that helps for farming!

How did you set up your shipping chest for that? Mine always dumb it in the ground or in another chest...

For crops it seems to be the automatic priority. If you want to specifically ship off all crops harvested I'd make a second shipping chest, set its priority higher than your other chests, and have it only accept fish/crops that you wanna sell.

IT WORKS! I tried to test out selling things but ended up selling the whole chest at first, I guess the system works like if there isn't anything inside the chest, the whole chest is then sold, but this problem is solved if you put something in the chest that never sells. You're a genius my friend.
