What is the easiest storage container to build?

Workbench --> Tinker's Workbench --> Nails(Bone)
Early game though, packages are 20 spaces, weigh only 0.8, and are really cheap to get, just find a delivery box in another town.

Build Sawmill and Carpenter's Table then craft them through one of them (Carpenter's Table I think).

there is one issue that can catch people which is that you need a chair to make a tinker's shop, but you need nails to make the chair

if you get the mushroom chair recipe you can use that one instead which requires only a log, but otherwise go find a tinker's bench in one of the cities to make your first batch of nails at

Also if you can't be bothered to craft something, you can just take it from a town using furniture tickets.

You don't need nails to make the tinker's table, you can make it with a Round Chair from the carpenters table which doesn't require nails. I think that is one of the default recipes for the carpenters table. I've seen it on all of my saves.
