Ironium missing?
It's possible I'm just being a ditz but when the guidebot tells me I need to find ironium and mine it to continue, I cannot find it. I can SEE several squares of it, it's just all behind bedrock or something unmineable at this point. Have I soft lock glitched?

You have to mine it out. There will be plenty available underground..

That, and some blocks look like bedrock, but try designating the digging tool and you'll find that they're 'brittle bedrock', which is able to be dug out.

There are also some digging tech upgrades like pickaxes or the carborundum (sp?) drills which allow your miners to dig through everything but bedrock.

on the first level of the underground all the Ironium should be able to be mined without upgrades. just mine around to the back there is usually a long path around to get to one of the sides of the ironium.

oh and dont forget once you have access to one side then click that mining tool and then the ironium so the blue prospector head appears on it to start mining it.

And then just start trading for Ironium at the station with the easier resources to make :D

Yeah but this is the VERY BEGINNING where they want you to mine one ore to level up (I've gotten past it on several other playthroughs)

I mean, that's just wrong. Or people wouldn't be able to progress past the first cave layer.

And hence my problem

It is there. I had a similar concern but you can find it you just have to really start digging around and make sure you have mined out anything that isn't bedrock.

I actually had to get across some gaps to find mine and i didn't have a steel press to build bridges.

The game however allows you to trade resources - so i wen to the station and started to trade 10 steel each time the train came.

That was enough to get some bridge platforms up and continue mining to reach the iridium.

And like I said, you probably just didn't look enough. Because if that wasn't the case, everyone else would be stuck too.

As a tip, if you click on an extractor in the building menu it will highlight all resources of that type on the map while you have it selected.
