We've known for a pretty long time that it's releasing as chapters. Expecting a full game in just 2 years by a small dev team is too ambitious and overly optimistic, especially given that these devs are, to my understanding at least, not working on the game 8-to-5 every single workday.

im not mad, im just kinda confused how it took so long since the delay when they promised it sometime 2022 and its now 2025

Maybe the other planned chapters will be finished much quicker comparatively, now that chapter 1 can be used as a base reference for the engine and codebase side of things. Plus the fact that each chapter won't be free so they can afford more dedicated development time.
