Jumpscares?
I can't handle jumpscares in games so I need to know before starting that there aren't any (or if there are a few light ones, exactly where to expect them). Can anyone help? TwT

BOOOO! There are some rather spooky occurrences, but nothing that would constitute as a jumpscare, as the game prefers to build tension with it's absurdist-horror with a slow buildup and pay off, some ending rather abruptly and thrusting you back into the surrealistic world, ensuring the snare of fear is quickly dispersed, and does not severely disturb the player, you should be alright! (One small abrupt, more so intriguing, but still jarring, spook is when talking to a character, whom sports yellow garments and a hat with two small nubs at the top, dressed in a garb, so watch for that if easily perturbed! {I believe they are deffered to as the Tatsuki Maiden?} )

thank you! Could I have some more information about the "spook" when talking to a character? Does it happen during a particular line of dialogue? What should I be looking out for? (don't be afraid to spoil because the alternative is that I don't play the game at all)

Her name is Taski Maiden, she's wearing yellow and has long streaks of red hair. She's wandering around aimlessly in the desert area when you first talk to her. Midway through the dialogue the music will cut out and she'll start saying something cryptic in a robotic whispery tone, before immediately cutting back right after while laughing at you. It's not loud or anything, but it may take you by surprise. She's entirely optional outside of an achievement so you don't NEED to talk to her. She pops up in a few other areas but it's only in the desert that this scare happens, to my knowledge.

While not a scare in a traditional sense there was also one optional maze area with music that somewhat startled me! If you encounter a yellow interior looking area while exploring off the beaten path the music may get a bit loud so bear that in mind lol

It happens when you talk to Taski Maiden for the first time after she says ">:( I am nice to you and this is the thankz I get? umwbmhjnbgrzmmafbczlcmnkyn". There are no loud noises, but the visuals and her voice change drastically and become creepier.
im a big scaredy cat and tbh, in my first playthrough, the game made me anxious and i had to play it during daytime T--T. there are parts where the music will be cheery then the next, the music would cut off (i.e. entering the maze in the taxi area) but overall, there are no jumpscares! mostly an eerie feeling because of the music cutoffs, then dark, long corridors that would appear as if there is something to jump out but there is nothing. if u get thru those moments, the game is super fun! the art styles of diff areas and diff characters (+ their voice acting?! omg!) would get u to stay!

hope this helps :D <33

thank you! I played the game yesterday and I agree: no jumpscares (but some moments are a bit creepy)
