Cutscenes Freezing?
Does this keep happening to anyone else? The game runs perfectly fine and smooth until you enter a cutscene where the animation and dialog freezes at a certain point for the whole scene, yet the audio itself still continues as normal.

Despite how old my Laptop is, it can still run most modern game perfectly fine and has enough storage space free to not cause any major performance issues. It also doesn't seem to be a memory leak issue as again, the actual game itself runs perfectly with all the 3D elements clearly working as they were intended. It's ironically only the 2D assets from the cutscenes themselves that are having trouble working as they should.

Oh well at least I can take some solace knowing I ain't the only one with this very specific issue as I have seen other users on the discussions forms or on other social media platforms like Reddit also complaining about this.

Update: 01/04/2024

Guess it's no April Fools joke, they just released a new patch that allows video quality and performance adjustments in the settings for lower end systems. I launched the game a few minutes ago and tested them to see if they ran without a hitch, and hey! It did work, now all my cutscenes are running smooth as butter, I can finally enjoy this game to it's fullest. A huge thanks to those to provided help in the replies. Now lets all enjoy the game!

I have super old laptop and like no storage on it but game works perfectly. Maybe you got some kind of bug?
same issue, happens very consistently when speaking to the 3 witches. also sometimes happens if you stare at your current jobs for too long. sometimes happens at random times with no aparent reason...so yes, probably a memory leak
quick update:
stared at my jobs for too long.
game freezed again.
restarted.
I did other things while the title screen was on.
game sudenly close
my 2 savefiles (1 completed, 1 around 30% complete) gone.
next time I opened the game prompted the audio and video adjustements, like if it was my first time playing. -_-
that happens to me too :(
sometimes pausing will make the cutscene catch up but not always
I haven't been able to replicate the crash consistently, but after testing I think it happens more often if the pc currently has high load on the storage (moving files and such)

PC specs
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G
RAM: 16 GB DDR4
STORAGE: 1TB NVMe
RESOLUTION: 1440p (16:9)

nevermind... storage load is not the issue. I'll be posting screenshots of "last frame before crash" in this discussion in case the developers see this. I hope this helps in any way to find the problem...

I'm also facing the same issue! I hope there's a way to fix it ;-;
turn off v-sync. the game struggles with high refresh monitors. I have a 165hz monitor and turning off v-sync makes the game runs only at 120 fps. I havent experienced a crash since that. please give it a try and tell me if it worked for you

Hey ho, by the time of me making this they just launched a new patch that added low quality video preferences in the settings. I also adjusted the frame rate down 60 just for good measure, but the cutscenes are now running smoothly! No need to turn off V-sync, but hey thanks for helping anyway. Now we can all enjoy this game for how it was meant to be!
