Crash after Lonely Door

After going to the first door, my game crashed and now it won't open anymore. When it starts, the Unity logo appears and then the Unity error screen appears.

i have the exact same problem, i tried wiping my save file clean (dont know if it worked tbh) and nothing :(

ok as someone who didn't know what a directx was untl i googled it, the more i look at the problem the less sense it makes;

- game crashes specifically at the lonely door
"alright it must be a problem with that specific point in the game, I'll just wipe my savefile and start over its no big deal"
- delete my savefile, nothing
"well then maybe something went wrong with the instalation of the game and i've just gotta reinstall it"
- uninstall, reinstall, nothing, still refuses to boot up
"well maybe its steam thats messing with me i'll just reinstall that too"
- uninstall steam and all other games, reinstall steam, reinstall game, nothing
- i find this thread and coral game's almost solution
- look up what a warp is because im stupid
- its something to do with the graphics
- looks at the requirements of the game again
- windows 7 or greater? check
- 64 bit and dual core? check
- dx11 capable? uhhh hold on
- its a default windows program apparently
- checks which version my computer has
- dx12

i have set up a trap outside my house with turrón bait in hopes that joel guerra himself comes down from peru with a solution, so far all i've gotten is rats

i was thinking what kind of dumb thing could have broke for so many people to have the same exact problem (found another 3 disscutions about this from as early as 31 of march) and kept comming back to that dx thinghy, and looking at the game requirements (again...) it mentions dx11 and only dx11, nothing about anything above tghat so i thought maybe if i downgrade to 11 itll work??? turns out dx12 is imposible to downgrade to 11 since its fully backwards compatible and 11 cant overwrite 12 which is whatever but this also means that i dont have to do any aditional installs and can just force my computer to only execute dx11 and ignore the added stuff from 12 so i follow thhe step guide from this website[www.ncesc.com] and installed the game again and it didnt work, though it did take a little longer for the crash handler to close the game so theres tahtttttt :(((((( in hindsight it doesnt make any sense for that to habe been the problrm since dx12 is basically dx11 with added stuff on top; if therees anybody more tech savy out therre who has any idea wgats going on please i would apreaciate some help, though its startig to look more and more like a plobkelm on the games end

btw in one of those disscutions someon esolved their problem but they were running on linux and used proton so therees that
