if you keep the folder open where you store your saves and have the back-up file copied to your clipboard, what you can do every time you fall is immediately skip the cutscene and exit back to the main menu, and while the game loads you can pull up the save folder and quickly delete the save you just fell in and paste the back-up, and by the time the game is finished loading the title screen back in you can just hit continue and click on the save you just pasted back in. I had to do it a bunch of times before I finally was able to get the achievement lol
ill do it later
will have to do it again bcs i fell
I guess the game count how many times you saved on a particular slot.
I moved my core save to another slot by renaming it "save_2.dat" and it worked. But when I fell again, restoring it sends me the first location because I assume saving once on the slot means you must be at the start of the game.
I actually did this, but it doesn't work. For some bizarre reason, it keeps your up to date one. maybe its steam cloud?
Me ayudaste con eso del altf4, despues de estar pasandolo haciendo record de llegar a ese punto en 9 minutos, con eso del alt f4 logre pasarlo a los 3 intentos, gracias
The Alt+F4 trick helped me a lot too! I ended up using that as my main method, only using save backups if I was too slow with Alt+F4.
For anyone else struggling with save backups: On Windows, I was able to use save backups in the userdata folder of the Steam directory, as shown in this video. Accessing the Appdata folders was never needed.
An easy way to find your Dream BBQ saves is to go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\ and then search for "2134320" (that's Dream BBQ's app id). Once you're in the 2134320 folder, you can just open the folders \remote\saves\steam\[some big number]\. (Your [some big number] will vary.)
There, you'll find these files (0, 1, and 2 are your three save files, so if any are blank they'll be missing):
If anyone needs help getting back to the Core from scratch, you can get there in about 5 minutes with a couple of braindead-easy skips. Here's a video of me doing a quick run to the core. For the ground clip skip at 0:12, just point at the red spot on the ground, don't move your mouse after pointing at the mountains, and hold A+S while crouching behind the stall. Detailed instructions here if you struggle with it. The taxi skip at 1:48 doesn't require any special skill or technique.
