idk what else you'd expect if you've watched the youtube series. felt like a pretty accurate representation of that to me. maybe you're going in expecting something different than what it is?
While this is a harsh opinion, given that it is a visually stunning game, I do agree with some points. It is normal for this to create a big impact on an audience that may not be used to surrealism, and it is a different way of approaching a story, but for me there are other games of this style that deliver much more, but that does not make this a big surprise for the indie market.
Any reason for it being boring? ENA Dream BBQ was a very entertaining game to play through, and in my honest opinion I think it executed pretty much everything nearly perfectly for its first chapter. The story sets itself up nice, and its just a joy reading Joel G's writing and learning about the world through the abstract dialogue and set pieces. Frankly, I don't really see how you could get bored in this game? Every inch of this game is crawling and bleeding with personality, and it's hard to miss the love that was so obviously poured into this. Every character is a joy to interact with, and I completely fell in love with some of them, especially Froggy. There's always something to be doing as well; you're either progressing the story, doing fun and whimsical side quests, exploring, or just sitting there and breathing in/picking apart the world around you. Not saying you aren't entitled to your own opinion; you are entirely allowed to be bored by this game. I'm simply confused as to how you would be bored by this game, and am curious as to what your reasoning is.

If you're actually curious, he doesn't understand what the characters are saying and he didn't find the nonsense entertaining. He complained about "modern analogies in western media" in another post and I instantly clocked him as the kind of fellow that doesn't have the narrative literacy skills to understand ENA dialogue and environments, and predictably, he doesn't like the game as a result because it seems pointless.

You're quoting a quote i quoted and you still think i said it .... wow . How about you answer the question on the previous post . Tell the others to look at it as well and you can explain it there . I'm still waiting for you to answer it .

I hope this isn't a politically driven game with slop thrown in but i guess I'll have to see.
" analogies about the modern age and its problems " if i understand that correctly that sounds like slop but it could make for a good video on the differences between western and eastern gaming.

Man I sure wish I had the required literacy skills to see a fellow complaining about modern analogies in western media. I'm gonna spell it out for you, if that's not what you meant, that was a *you* issue, everyone else clocked you as a /v/ user.

He continues to make more assumptions about not understanding a plot . It was boring to me but hey maybe this game was the funnest thing he's ever played .

You have poor reading comprehension . Show me where i complained about that . It was a quote someone else in that post said and i quoted it. Yet you keep lying and saying i said it . You should have read but that's on you if you want to keep claiming i said that . You know this : " " its called quotes . It's used when you're speaking form the perspective of someone else using their words for example :

" Man I sure wish I had the required literacy skills to see a fellow complaining about modern analogies in western media. I'm gonna spell it out for you, but if that's not what you meant, that was a *you* issue, everyone else clocked you as a /v/ user. "

This ^ is what you said . Now go back to the first post and read it again so you can realize how you read a statement from someone else .

I watched no such series just saw it on steam .
So I'm gonna assume you're a twitter user then? That's usually where I see people say "We should get this water up to 100c°" and then complain that people assumed they said "boil water". Again, buddy, if this is not what you said, that is a you problem, you wrote something that is beyond a shadow of a doubt understood by all readers to mean "I do not like modern analogies in western media and prefer eastern media."
Every time i call this guy out he stops replying because he knows I'll make him look bad based on the comments he leaves lol. That's why he won't answer the question in the other post . he can't delete it either because i quoted him .

By the way he's saying this because I took 4 hours to reply to his other thread and he hasn't noticed yet there's a fat dunk on his entire identity as a gamer waiting over there.

why do you think it was in quotes .... did you read the person above that to see the very fact that they wrote that and i quoted it in my reply ? No you didn't so all any logical reader is going to get out of that is that YOU didn't read everything . You also said " I'm going to assume you're a twitter user then ? " You used a question mark to ask me that . Then proceeded to do so and randomly tell me about what people you see say on it. For a person claiming i can't understand the plot of a game.

I see now ... you're projecting and I'm going to prove this . Why won't you answer the question about what you said in the first post ? It's ironic how you claim i can't understand the plot of something yet you simply can't understand that i quoted someone else's words . All you had to do was read and you'd see that someone in the post said that and i quoted it .

Yes, you quoted it and then complained about it, if you weren't american you'd have been taught in school that that means you disagree with the statement and that everyone reading your post will see it as such. It's funny that you were the one to complain about trolling when you're doing the prime example of trolling by arguing the semantics of what you said as if people are as bad as you at reading.
