Animated Cutscene Lag
Does anyone know how to fix the lag with the animated cutscenes? The rest of the game runs smoothly until it reaches a cutscene (mostly any animated cutscene) and it completely freezes up while the audio continues as normally. Is this a bug of some kind? Any way to fix it?

I'm also experiencing this exact issue.
For reference, I'm running this on Ubuntu Linux.

Oh okay, I thought it was just my computer but it's happening to others. yeah it happened to me every other cutscene. Audio would be fine, but the image would completely freeze and the text box wouldnt move. Very very weird. I'm on windows 11
I had to pause it multiple times for the animation to catch up, it's not great.
I have that same issue. I just thought it was my computer since it's pretty old but thank you for sharing that. Hopefully the creators can fix it at some point. I tried to turn down the frame rate but it didn't do anything for me but maybe it will help someone else.
im having this issue too and I have an intel i6 core, idk what's wrong

Same issue not sure if it’s my computer or a bug

Really hoping this can be fixed at some point, I would absolutely love to play the game but this kinda ruins the experience, especially when some characters speak other languages. I know I can look at cutscene text again in tab, but it just ain't the same.

Same here

Same problem here. Lowering resolution worked for 1 cutscene then it went back to freezing

Same thing for me. Lowering frame rate had no impact on the problem. My computer isn't great, but it can run comparitively beefier games just fine

has anyone found a solution for this?
Changing the resolution worked for a single cutscene. But right after that? Back to the lag... (Edit: I only now noticed that someone alredy commented this, but anyhoo)

I have the same issue!! I didn't have this problem yesterday, where i played up until the receptionist with the slot machines area, and when i continued today most of the npc animations and text keep lagging. audio continues as normal. I had to look up a playthrough and whenever I get to a cutscene that lags, i play it again through the youtube video.. i hope they fix this somehow- and i also only have the game and discord open

Hi, I found a solution that works for me. Since trying this, the only lag I have experienced was briefly when loading a new area. I did this on an Acer Aspire 7 running windows 10. I went my computer's settings, then system, then display. I scrolled all the way down and clicked Graphics Settings. Here, you can make certain applications run in power saving mode or high performance mode. Counter intuitively, I find that my applications perform better in power saving mode, although doing this with more demanding games e.g Elden Ring causes frequent unavoidable crashes. I browsed applications and selected the file 'ENA-4-DreamBBQ.exe'. I set it to power saving mode and have experienced no lag since. This solution might not work on other computers because my computer is really weird and kinda broken, but hopefully this will help some people.
