Having trouble connecting controllers...

Have any other mac users had any trouble getting controllers to work on this version of the game? I have a bluetooth controller thats recognized on my macbook as a PS4 controller; It's working fine for other games but not for this one. The games isnt recognizing it at all. I apologize if a question like this has been asked before; I didn't see one when I was looking for answers!
