No that's pretty much it. 12 year olds over-inflating the algorithm with their first "weird" video. I can respect the talent but the humor and presentation's just annoying and trying way too hard.

i can totally see where youre coming from -- i had a lot of trouble getting into the videos at first too. for a while. but i feel like thats also what made it kind of charming? its a form of "lol xd random" but without the annoying "im so quirky and silly" and more of a "everyone here is high on crack and nothing makes sense but i like it" and it doesnt feel forced for the most part. yeah, some characters here and there might feel out of place and forcibly "weird" but they dont ruin the whole thing (especially with how side characters are utilized, with the one-and-done npc-esque interactions). and the mainstream episodes are never trying to appeal to a specific genre or aesthetic too hard imo, just some food for thought.

It's filled with meta references and hidden messages / easter eggs, so people who like that kind of stuff latch on to it to a sometimes obsessive degree. Just like Homestuck. Don't let the cringe side of these internet fanbases stop you enjoying things on your own terms lol.

I feel like I'd have to actually watch & read the entirety of Homestuck to answer this question and... Homestuck is pretty long. Now, I'm not clueless about Homestuck even though I haven't really read it - I've seen bits and have friends who are really into it.

What I can say with my limited knowledge is that both of these series actually do have continuity and aren't entirely random like they may seem, however their continuities are very different from each other.

ENA isn't anything like Homestuck at all, imo, except for maybe some subtle things in development that I'm not entirely certain of at the moment such as potentially having a disorganized writing style.
