Picma - Picture Enigmas

Is there another name for the "Squared" puzzles?
I know the "Picma Plus" puzzles are widely known as "Nonograms". Is there a more widely used (and more unique) term for the "Picma Squared" puzzles? Searching the internet for "squared number puzzles" isn't helping me find any more examples of this type of puzzle.

Picma Squared was however the first to introduce colors to this type of puzzle and likely remains one of the very few to offer this type of gameplay.

Cheers! The multi-color puzzles are a real treat.

I do miss the ability in the Plus and Squared puzzles to mark "potential" squares as a temporary "guess", as I've found that feature in other games very helpful. As far as I can tell Picma doesn't have that tool.

We actually used to have that feature in Picma Plus.

It was removed after we improved the algorithm that checks if an image is valid as a puzzle - it now makes sure that all of our puzzles can be solved without those temporary "guesses" (sometimes the next logical step is well hidden but it's there).

However, even if it's not truly necessary we could consider adding it back if there's popular demand for it.

If you're looking for more puzzles to solve, Picross is very similar to Picma.
