Blue Screen Crashes Throughout
I'm getting a lot of hard crashes, where the whole computer locks up and the last note is repeated until the blue screen of death comes up. It's always the same error: a page dump. From experimenting (not that I've wanted to cause the crash that often) some areas of the game seem more prone to this happening: they must be unstable because of the mesh or something, because there's no crazy particle effects, explosions or camera filters going on at them. They look perfectly normal, except for their tendency to blue screen me. The one exception is the mission Underground Retreat, right after the save point: this blue screens consistently. I couldn't find much on google but sounds like this might be a developer problem, though I'm hoping it's just a bad install for some reason. Any ideas?

FYI, I'm digging up more (slowly, there's not a lot to go on) that makes it sound like my problem might be that my computer is too *good*. Something about how this game can't handle dual core well, and you have to turn everything off but one. Just in case others have this same issue.
I'll just throw some ideas out. What kind of graphics card do you have? And what's your power supply?
Howdy there, I've actually got a pretty new computer. I use Intel i7, an nVidia GeForce GT 420, and I have 16 gig of ram. I'm not sure how to find out my power supply, but I run both high end games and 3D modeling programs on here without any trouble, it's only this little kid game that won't work hehehe. Certainly, this machine's much better than a Wii which runs my earlier Lego games just fine, and I get the bluescreens even with all the settings turned low or off.

After doing some research, it looks like all the Lego games from Batman 2 back can't handle multi-core processing. The solutions I've found online all require opening the task manager and turning off all the processing except for one source: this has worked okay, but is super annoying, and sometimes they keep turning themselves back on for some reason. It's not the "real" solution, but it's sounding more and more like there isn't one. Tech support hasn't bothered writing anything back to me.
(PS, it sounds like the new Hobbit game might have finally addressed that issue.)
