I disagree, for a start Lego Batman 2 was the first Lego game to feature open world AND voice acting both of which make the game shine much brighter than any previous title to come before it.
The addition of DC Universe characters such as the Justice League definitely adds some extra gameplay elements. However if you want to play most of the characters you'll need to finish the story as you dont get half the league till the very end.
This is also the best Superman game, so if you're a fan of Superman you will love this game. It plays the John Williams theme everytime you fly with Superman in Gotham.
Loved this game so much I bought it twice, originally on Xbox when it first came out then later again on PC. So you could say this is one of the best Lego games out there right now, if you dont like this then I doubt you'll like any other Lego game but it's worth the shot.
This should be the benchmark for all Lego games, dont judge them on earlier titles as this the title which redefines lego games.
Lego Batman 2 however was full of both Lego charm and DC awesome.
I would recommend it and am considering the Steam purchase as I no longer use my consoles.
Lego LOTR is newer, it is the latest lego game at the moment.
