If you just rush through the level doing the minimum to get through, not collecting every stud possible or getting items, you should be able to do it in a reasonable time. Once you have the level you can re-enter any time and spend whatever time you have available to get all the items and achievements using the save and quit option if you have to leave. You have to redo levels anyway in free play to get some of the things, using some characters only available later in the game, so you might as well skip through on the first go.
Even with all the quirks Lego games are fun and once you've found a few Extras (multipliers / stud magnet / regen hearts etc.) it gets a lot easier/faster. It's worth persisting if you can.

Hope you have fun with it, good luck :)

All Lego games autosave at the end of a level. If you save and quit any time before that the game will only save the stud total and any items found, but not any level progress.
To save in the hub areas just save and quit and you won't lose anything.

Hope this helps :)

How do I reload from my checkpoint? Im at the point where superman saves us, and then there is a save point, and i saved and exit, how do I get back there? when I reload my save i'm back at the batcave.

It clearly says that when i return i will be able to load from my checkpoint. Ok thanks!!!

It took my like 2 hrs to get to that savepoint, I go slow.. Thats as much as I can play at once, can i not save my progress at the save point? What is the point of save point? I'm sure i'm doing something wrong. It never give my the option to choose what slot to save in etc. Very confusing.

Maybe this game is not aimed at me, I have a busy life and family etc i get intrupted constantly.

I need to be able to save and exit when i need to, I'll just stick to games where i can do that. I dont have time for this. Bummer cuz I was loving the game but I cant figure out how to save lol.

Sounds like we have our answer, the save points dont work lol. Thanks for saving me any more lost time, uninstall. Luckily it is a game I have from Origins premier so I really didn't spend anything on it.

Thank you really, very helpful.

Batman 2: Save at Checkpoint, Quit and Return to Saved Game

At the Checkpoint, choose Save and Exit. Then quit the game.

When you next play the game and load your save game, and are back in the Batcave, instead of using the Bat computer, look at the Map (main menu). Your saved checkpoint position should be marked by a pulsing yellow-and-black bat symbol. Go and select an appropriate vehicle and travel to the checkpoint by following the line of transparent blue waymarker studs. Then you should be able to rejoin your saved game by arriving at your destination (or by activating a contact like Chief Gordon who might be there). You should see a big yellow-and-black bat symbol on the ground.

At least, this worked for me on the Arkham Asylum and ABC Chemicals sections.

The save option on many lego games does not work even after a completed level, this is due to either steam or lego server issue or corrupted save.
