Unable to use XBOX controller, constant disconnects

Trying to use an Xbox One controller, and the game does not register it well.
If I start the game with the controller connected, it does not recognize it.
If I connect it at the start of a match, it stops recognizing it within 10 seconds.
When it disconnects during a lobby, there is no way to fix it without remaking the lobby.
It was for some reason thinking it was a PS controller and thinking there were two controllers, but messing with the settings I was able to set it recognizing only one.

I don't hate using keyboard, but I'd like the ability to use my controller.

When you're in the lobby, it may or may not detect mouse movement as a controller input and therefore disconnect your controller. It's a known issue and the dev has said they're working on fixing that.
