The game don't have a lot idle time anyway.
If you are waiting other players browsing shop, it is better you move to the right side, then swipe your phone for several seconds.
Not like I going to feel excitement just because "oh look that player send love emoji"
Right now you have to reach for the keyboard and you have to stop moving to type which is honestly kind of a pain when you just want to move to the right side asap. If there was an emoji you could trigger it while still moving there.
If you don't value human interaction or you never PUG then you probably won't see the point but the rest of us do.
Yeah that sounds great. Triggers are essentially unused anyways.
Yeah, like you said - aside from the small added social benefit, emotes could actually serve a gameplay communication function that could be helpful for pugs in particular. like imagine a set of arrows to essentially communicate 'you go that way, i'm staying here.'
Right? Their bad argument aside, what are they hoping to achieve with that comment? Protecting the poor dev from my wacky ideas? No it’s just self-gratifying internet contrarianism.
Even though I disagree with it, at the very least they managed to contribute a relevant opinion. Very much unlike the 13 y/o edgelord comment that followed yours. The cringe is real.
If Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, or Helldivers 2 are any indication, people are gonna use emotes a lot even in the middle of a fight. I believe the red stage and blue stage bosses have points where you can't hit the boss as they are offscreen, so you actually have some idle time to do anything.
