Emotes?
The game already has emotes that were made for the offline story. I think it would add a little more life to online. Outside of actually typing all we can do right now to communicate is like.. wiggle or “jump”.

Just maybe no emotes during combat. Or give them a cooldown or some other form of suppression at least.

Anyways, just a thought.

Edit- Little note for the “the dev can’t/shouldn’t waste time on this” types: The dev literally went and added ‘accessories go flying off on death’ based on a single discord comment suggestion, and that little feature adds almost no value, whereas emotes could actually contribute something to the game both in mechanical and social function. So unless your argument is about why you’d think emotes would be detrimental (in other words, a take that isn’t baseless and pointless) then you can bunny hop right on out of here.

Is a luxury feature that no one going to pay attention to anyway.
The game don't have a lot idle time anyway.
If you are waiting other players browsing shop, it is better you move to the right side, then swipe your phone for several seconds.

Not like I going to feel excitement just because "oh look that player send love emoji"

I never understand why players are the first to ♥♥♥♥ on ideas to make a game better.

Where's the idea to make the game better? I'm not seeing it here.

I think something like RT+ABXY probably isn't so hard to handle even in the middle of battle. In between battles, emojis are a very quick and easy way to do e.g. victory pose and so on. People do it in FF14 all the time.

Right now you have to reach for the keyboard and you have to stop moving to type which is honestly kind of a pain when you just want to move to the right side asap. If there was an emoji you could trigger it while still moving there.

If you don't value human interaction or you never PUG then you probably won't see the point but the rest of us do.

Yeah that sounds great. Triggers are essentially unused anyways.
Yeah, like you said - aside from the small added social benefit, emotes could actually serve a gameplay communication function that could be helpful for pugs in particular. like imagine a set of arrows to essentially communicate 'you go that way, i'm staying here.'

Right? Their bad argument aside, what are they hoping to achieve with that comment? Protecting the poor dev from my wacky ideas? No it’s just self-gratifying internet contrarianism.

Even though I disagree with it, at the very least they managed to contribute a relevant opinion. Very much unlike the 13 y/o edgelord comment that followed yours. The cringe is real.

If Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, or Helldivers 2 are any indication, people are gonna use emotes a lot even in the middle of a fight. I believe the red stage and blue stage bosses have points where you can't hit the boss as they are offscreen, so you actually have some idle time to do anything.

+1, emotes are fun. As long as there is an option to disable them (even better, custom opacity) during battle!
