I am looking how other plays and where their eye looking, checking if any habit I shall improve or avoid.
Perhaps I shall look less on my hero skill CD or relying on audio cue to time the "special reset"
There are some mechanics are deeper than this.
Example certain scholar nest unit teleport you + spin laser etc.
Take me multiple loss to "get the puzzle" but still occasionally mistake.
Basically I keep retrying a level until I lose so much time to exactly a same move, then noticed how to get a safe zone.
Then it come to my mind, much other bullet hells game I played are never same situation, there are no puzzle element, I just do purely by my reaction in other games. This game I can't.
I probably noticed I shouldn't learn how to finding the safe zone by playing anymore (it help but slower due the amount of time retrying previous combat).
I probably should just get enough screenshot and pause someone video from YouTube and Mark down the safe zone
On runs where everyone got it down to a tee, it's quite boring sometimes.
But I have to predict what going to happen.
There is no need for hostility and this is not a complain, I am talking to myself for finding a way to catching the pattern faster.
There is no "this game unfit me and this game design trash sentence".
By looking other video and pausing, I am able to get the safe spot "saved in to my mind".
When in gameplay I saw "that pattern" so I able to "oh yes I should go here then move clockwise".
This is helping me learn faster than, taking multiple minutes again fighting from outskirt and all the way to boss.
Of course bullet evading skill is still something have to done on the spot not something can preplanned
It is probably not puzzling enough for people able to decrypt enemy attack second nature.
But on first time hard experience, seeing multiple spinning laser, multiple explosion, multiple cross explosion made me stunned .
I try took multiple stoneskin item end up impossible to move in time during the frog jumping left and right.
This slightly made hero without speed penalty from skill (most of the time) bigger advantage from practicing hard.
So I probably ditch black mage for now
also...turtleskin buff, this buff saved me so many times already
i dont remember if its turtle or stone that negates one damage, this helps SO MUCH when you are progging with your friends, also there is a potion that makes you harder to hit, this also comes in a clutch
Though I have to admit I still need to capture screenshot and pause the game when there are multiple mechanic need decryption at the screen from only this 1 boss.
Ruby boss, I need time to decrypt multiple spinning clockwise or counter-clockwise, just to confirm the intended standing location.
Basically hard is becoming normal to me. But I will admit I won't consider play LUNAR.
For now, non boss enemy with high chance to deal damage to me is
- the two rat that taking turn doing horizontal and vertical bullet hell
- SCHOLAR Nest boss time stop attack starting from 2nd time stop.
- 3rd enemy in Ruby level, not sure why I always get hit by the slow moving bullet during the rotating beam
- RUBY boss charge attack starting from 2nd one. Have to pause and use several seconds to process the spinning beam.
Great addition to my personal gameplay skill hard roguelike.
