Issues on Treasure Hunt Clue #2

It seems clear to me that the answer is to go back to the fort. I spoke to the lighthouse keeper and he implied the save, but when I go back there, there's nothing there to find, and the characters are all there as if it's the beginning of the treasure hunt again.

Help?

It’s a bug, a cutscene is meant to play when you dock at the fort. Leaving the fort and then coming back worked for me.

I've been back to the fort two or three times and that didn't do anything.

damn that sucks. nothing left but to report the bug. or try to return to the city and see what happens. maybe it'll restart the quest.
